Sprayer Barn offer Precision Farming solutions on all accuracy levels. Brands include Trimble, Leica, Top Con, Teejet, Raven and Farmscan. All offer their own steering and switching products along with the three main levels of accuracy.
Uncorrected signal is the base level of GPS available for precision farming. This signal is free to air and has no ongoing costs. Typical accuracy depending on antenna and satellite configuration is 15-25cm pass to pass over 15 minutes. This is the same level your hand held and car GPS unit operate on.
HP / XP is the "mid" level of accuracy. This requires a correction signal from a provider that gives the satellite receiver an extra point of reference. The corection signal may come from a satellite or ground station. This greatly reduces drift and has a typical accuracy depending on satellite configuration of 10-15cm. The correction signal provider will charge a fee for this service.
RTK level GPS is the most accurate and has no drift. Accuracies of 2 - 5 cm are typical. Real Time Kinematic uses available satellites and a correction signal from a base station via radio signal to give this high end accuracy. Radio signal is most commonly UHF however VHF radio are becoming more common due to their ability to cover more distance and not be as prone to drop outs due to buildings or topography. UHF radios have a typical range of 10-15km and VHF radios more like 20-30km. After these distances radios will often be affective if they are in line of site. Bases can be either roving or perminant.
Sprayer Barn offer a RTK base network ranging from northern NSW to southern VIC. This allows customers to travel anywhere within the coverage area and maintain RTK level accuracy for much less than the cost of owning your own base station.
